When is the scholarship application due?
The scholarship application is due by June 30th. Application form must be submitted electronicaly by 9:00pm EST, June 30th.
How do I apply for the WTAC scholarship?
The way to apply for the WTAC scholarship is by visiting the students resources page at https://www.tuskegeedmv.org/scholarship/application.
What are the eligibility requirements to apply for the WTAC scholarship?
Yes, there are eligibility requirements to apply for the WTAC scholarship.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Resident of the DC Metropolitan Area (Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia)
- Enrolled Tuskegee University undergraduate student in good standing or a graduating high school senior approved for admission to Tuskegee University
- Minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 point scale
- Award based on scholastic merit, financial need, and/or fund availability
- Application deadline date: June 30th
- Official transcripts need to be mailed to the below address by the deadline
Is the scholarship available for the Fall and Spring semesters?
The scholarship is only available for the Fall.
Can I apply for the scholarship for the Spring term?
No, the scholarship is awarded only in the Fall.
When will I know if I will receive a scholarship?
Within three weeks after the scholarship deadline.
How will I be notified that I received a scholarship?
All students will receive email notification to the email address on the scholarship application regarding the decision of their scholarship application. This includes students selected and not selected to receive scholarships.
How will the scholarship be sent to me?
The scholarship will be sent directly to Tuskegee University on your behalf.
Is there a standard amount for the WTAC scholarship?
No, there is no standard scholarship amount.
Can I request that scholarship money be sent directly to me instead of the University?
No, the scholarship will only be sent to Tuskegee University.
Can I still apply for the WTAC scholarship if I already have a full scholarship from Tuskegee?
Yes.

Can I apply for the WTAC scholarship as a freshman?
Yes, as an incoming freshman to Tuskegee University, you are eligible to apply for the WTAC scholarship.
Can I apply for the WTAC scholarship as a transfer student?
Yes, you can apply for the scholarship as a student transferring to Tuskegee.
Is the WTAC scholarship available to graduate students?
No, the WTAC scholarship is only available to undergraduate students in the DC metro area. Therefore, graduate students are not eligible.
If I was ineligible for the scholarship last year, am I eligible to apply for this upcoming year?

Is an official transcript with the school’s seal required?
An official transcript with the school’s seal is not required, but it is highly encouraged.
Can you receive a scholarship every year you are at Tuskegee? If so, what are the requirements?
You can receive a scholarship every year that you meet the eligibility requirements.
Can I still qualify for this scholarship if my application is incomplete?
No, you must submit a completed application.
How will the University be notified of my scholarship award?
The school will be notified by email of your scholarship award by the WTAC President.
What do I need to do to claim my scholarship award at the University?
You will need to sign the official acceptance letter.
How many types of scholarships do you award?
WTAC gives out the scholarship for the Fall term. It can be used on your University account at your discretion. However, we suggest that you contact WTAC if you received a full scholarship from the University for academics or athletics because it will reduce the amount the University provides in scholarship funds. In this case, we can specify the scholarship be awarded as a book scholarship, so as not to interfere with your university scholarship.

Can I apply for a scholarship before being accepted into Tuskegee?
No. You must be accepted and know your student ID number when you apply.
What information does WTAC need to send my scholarship award to the University?
In order to apply the scholarship award to your Tuskegee University account, your student ID number must be filled out on your application.
Are your scholarships merit based or need based?
Both merit and need is factored into the evaluation process.
What does the scholarship committee look at when scoring my application?
